Bollywood was not doing great at the Box Office in the 1st half of 2023. Bollywood only had 3 clean hits in the 1st half. Pathaan emerged as an All Time Grosser, The Kerala Story was a historic blockbuster and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was a surprise hit.
In the 2nd half, Bollywood witnessed back to back successful films at the Box Office. Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt emerged as a hit at the Box Office. Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 went on to create havoc at the Box Office by smashing many records and is still going strong. Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 is all set to enter the 150 cr club and emerged as a Super-Hit. Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2 is also doing well at the Box Office and has become successful.
Vicky Kaushal who had a great year till now, will be next seen in YRF’s rom-com The Great Indian Family.
A musical event took place in Mumbai today, where ‘Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja’, song was launched.
Vicky was present at the event and he also gave a live dance performance.
Vicky was asked about the current scenario of Bollywood Box Office. Vicky while speaking about the same said, “Dream Girl 2 is having a great run, Gadar 2, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, inn films ka content ek doosre se bahut alag hai, the scale is very different and so is the budget. But it’s still connecting with the audience who are giving these films a chance. Sabko mauka mila, sabko celebrate kiya, back-to-back, every Friday, which is just beautiful and encouraging. Thank you to the audience once more. Humein apne aap mein vishwas dilane ke liye, aapke pyaar ki wajah se hi humein shakti milti hai, ye strength mila hai ki hum jo kahani kehta chahte hai wo aap tak la sakte hai hai. So. mujhe lagta hai ki content hamesha baat karega.”
He also said, “What Gadar 2 is doing is incredible. And wo accha bhi lagta hai, ki har film celebrate ho rahi hai. Yahi meri prayer hai ki iss film ko bhi waisa pyaar mile, usse zyada pyaar mile, iske gaano ko mile.This is also a family film. It is something we can all rejoice and celebrate with our families.”
The Great Indian Family is all set to release on 22nd September. The film stars Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chillar in the lead roles. The film is directed by Dhoom 3 and Thugs Of Hindustan fame Vijay Krishna Acharya. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films.
