Dev Kohli was a veteran lyricist. He passed away at the age of 80 this morning. 

Dev Kohli was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. 

He began his career with the Bollywood film Gunda (1969).

He has written lyrics for many successful films. 

He has penned lyrics for Hindi films from the past 6 decades. 

His notable works from Retro Bollywood include films like Lal Patthar, Salaakhen, Ram Bharose, Aakhri Kasam, Ek Baar Kaho, etc. 

He has written lyrics for many successful films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Patthar Ke Phool, 100 Days, Khiladi, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Baazigar, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hulchul, Veergati, Chaahta, Sapoot, Judwaa, Mr. And Mrs. Khiladi, Ishq, Biwi No. 1, Mela, Jodi No. 1, Musafir, Shoot Out At Lokhandwala, Taxi No. 9211, Judwaa 2, Phone Bhoot, etc.

Dev Kohli had worked with almost every big actor like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Nana Patekar, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Saif Ali Khan, Jackie Shroff, Bobby Deol, Varun Dhawan, etc. 

His last work in Bollywood was for Katrina Kaif’s Phone Bhoot in 2022.

His funeral will take place at his residence Jupiter Apartment in Mumbai from 2 pm. 

His last rites will be performed at 6 pm in Oshiwara Crematorium, Jogeshwari.

His close friends from industry like Anu Malik, Uttam Singh, Anand Raaj Anand and many others will be seen paying last respects.
