OMG 2 and Gadar 2 are all set to clash at the Box Office tomorrow.
Its clash of the sequels at the Box Office, this Independence Day Weekend.
Gadar was the most watched Bollywood film of this millennium and one of the most loved films in India. OMG 2 was a Classic and one of the best films made in Bollywood.
The anticipation among the movie lovers for both the films is very high.
Gadar back in 2001, faced clash with Lagaan at the Box Office. Though both the films emerged as clean hits at the Box Office, Sunny Deol’s Gadar won the clash opposite Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan.
Gadar became an All Time Blockbuster and an All Time Grosser. Gadar is still the most watched Bollywood film of this millennium. The film is the biggest hit of the millennium in terms of footfalls.
Lagaan on the other hand became a Global sensation. Lagaan is a Classic film which is amongst one of the finest films ever made in World Cinema.
2 decades later, Gadar 2 is also set to face a clash at the Box Office with OMG 2.
We got a chance to do an exclusive interview with Yami Gautam for OMG 2, where she discussed the Box Office clash.
In an exclusive interview with us for OMG 2, Yami Gautam spoke about the Box Office clash, her support for both the films, Raees vs Kabil clash, the sensitive subject of OMG 2 and much more.
Q] Yami you have been a part of many successful films, but talking about this film it deals with a sensitive topic and also talks about religion, so is there any nervousness about how the film will be perceived, and even clash is there?
Ans – After watching the film you decide on the subject of religion, I’ll rather say faith, how is it told, what is the context that is used? If it’s about education, then what is the context, the backstory and everything else is there in the film. And talking about the clash, at the place where our screening took place, there was a cutout of handpump (referring to Gadar 2), I had taken a photo with it. One day prior to the release I’ll share that pic and will wish Sunny sir all the best for Gadar 2. A clash is more challenging for producers. I have been a part of Box Office clashes before during Raees and Kaabil. The film, which has a potential to do huge business, is affected due to the clash. According to my experience, I think every film has its own destiny and if this film reaches a certain point which we are expecting then it will be a win-win situation for us. When someone says that my many films have done well and turned out to be beneficial for producers, I think along with luck its sheer hard work. I think that I want to be a part of such films that I should like as an actor but the audience should also connect with it. I value my family audience. I think my audience is growing, by looking at my recent releases. I think people have expectations when they see my name associated with a particular film. So if you call this as luck, I accept it and if you call this as hard work then too I will accept it. I hope people like OMG 2.
