Gadar was released in 2001 and created havoc at the Box Office. Despite facing a clash, the film broke each and every possible record at the Box Office. The film not only emerged as an All Time Blockbuster but also became an All Time Grosser in Indian Cinema. The film had registered a mammoth footfall of 5 cr+ which is still a record in this millennium for any Bollywood film.
After 22 years, the sequel of Gadar is finally releasing and we can’t hold our excitement.
The trailer of Gadar 2 was launched today at a grand event in Mumbai. The cast and crew of the film was present at the event. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Anil Sharma (Director), Shariq Patel (Zee Studios), Utkarsh Sharma, Mithoon (Music Composer), Alka Yagnik, Aditya Narayan, etc. were seen gracing the event.
In the event Ameesha said what comments were passed on her while selecting this role. She opened up about how people in the industry told her that she won’t be able to do the role of a mother in Gadar.
While speaking about the same Ameesha said, “When Anil Sharma narrated the story to me, there were many people in the film industry, there were many big shots who told me what kind of role you are doing and how you will do it. You have done a film with Salman Khan and played the role of a college student. You have worked with Ajay Devgn where he was a professor and you were again a college student. I had done 2 films with Hrithik, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne Lage, and I was again a college student. And when this subject was narrated to me and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was not released yet, all of them told me that I won’t be able to play the role of a mother. I like challenges and instead of getting rejected I like to accept challenges. I had faith in my director because he had written a beautiful love story. I had to say yes to the film. Anil ji had helped me alot with the look and everything. He gave his best and helped me in everything. He also looked after the thing in which I look mature enough to play the role of mother. He used to sit with me for 12 hours and worked on my look for 6 months.”

Gadar 2 is all set to release on 11th August and will face a clash with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the Box Office. The film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles. The film is produced and directed by Anil Sharma. The film is also produced by Zee Studios.
