Tiku Weds Sheru is a complete disaster. OTT platforms are no less than a dustbin where makers try to dump their garbage (crap films). Tiku Weds Sheru is easily the worst film of the year and will remain so. A film on so-called struggle which will make you struggle hard to come back to your senses.
The starting scene of the film has a director saying, ‘Cut, Cut’ and I wished the makers would have said the same thing at the time of finalizing the script. I wished I had also said the same while watching the 1st scene and would have saved my precious 2 hours, but for sake of reviewing I had to watch this shit.
Tiku Weds Sheru is a story of Sheru (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who works as a junior artist in films, living in Mumbai and Tiku (Avneet Kaur) who dreams to be an actress. The film was supposed to show the struggle of struggling actors and outsiders who dream to make big into the industry, but doesn’t show a single thing about struggle. The funniest thing is that the film doesn’t seem to be what it had promised. I doubt even makers would be able to tell us what the actual storyline looked like.
The writer of the film needs every bashing for sure. Terrible, crap, shit and all those words which you can use would be less to define this writing. The film should have shown the struggle, passion, talent and hardwork of an aspiring and struggling outsider, instead it shows us how an aspiring actress compromises by sleeping with a producer to get a role in the film. What message were you giving to those who want to make big in the industry? How badly would these negatively shown things affect their dreams? Makers should have thought of a hundred times before presenting this terribly written show.
A woman after being used as a sex tool and being cheated follows the same route again. How dumb can makers be? A man who finds out that his newly married wife is pregnant and cheating on him by carrying some other person’s child, still expresses his love to her. What funny writing this is! A junior artist acting as a pimp and acts as a supplier of girls and drugs. I mean what is this going on? Are we in for a some kind of semi-adult show or watching a feature film?
Each and every scene has no connection with the previous one and this has to be in the record books. How talented are the makers for presenting a film of 111 minutes where in every single minute you watch something new, which is not connected to other scenes at all. Even an omniscient being would find it hard to know what makers were actually trying to show.
The best thing about Tiku Weds Sheru is names associated with talented actors like Kangana Ranaut and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the worst part is also the same. There was a time when Nawaz and Kangana used to deliver very good films, but in the last few years they have been terrible with their script selection. Tiku Weds Sheru is another addition in their elite list of craps. It hurts to see when both of these talented actors are wasting their precious time in making these types of crap.
Performance wise, Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is a great actor is totally wasted. Sheru is such a badly written character and doesn’t give justice to the immense talent of Nawaz. Nawaz has tried his hand in rom-com and quirky roles in films like Freaky Ali, Motichoor Chaknachoor, Jogira Sa Ra Ra, etc. but has not given any memorable performances like he does in serious and intense roles. Nawaz should focus more on what he is best known for i.e. serious and intense roles. Avneet Kaur will regret choosing this as her debut film. Character of Tiku is so badly written and presented that one would feel ashamed about it. Her character is so badly presented that the girls who are trying their luck and thinking to make big in the industry will take a backseat. After looking at the character of Tiku, it seems like we are watching a B-Grade adult film. It’s disgusting to see a 21 year old child (Avneet Kaur) being presented in such an adult avatar. Vipin Sharma and Zakir Hussain are totally wasted and rest of the cast seems like a torture.
Sai Kabir’s direction is a total disaster. Maybe he was making some kind of B-Grade film which doesn’t have any connection to the story. His direction seems to be so childish and confused. He has made a fun of cinema with his pathetic direction. Even a person who doesn’t know ‘D’ of direction would have made a better film than this shit.
Tiku Weds Sheru has used unnecessary bad words, which are nowadays mandatory for an OTT product. The language and words used are so bad, that it feels like we are watching a street fight. The dialogue writer should be punished for writing such bad and filthy dialogues. I wonder how the makers approved such terrible dialogues.
Overall, Tiku Weds Sheru is a complete torture and headache which will make you struggle to come back to your senses again. It is such a terribly written, presented and directed film. Even short films made by struggling filmmakers on YouTube will make a good watch rather than watching this shit. If you don’t want to waste your precious time and have respect for actors like Nawaz and Kangana, please skip it.
