Adipurush was finally released in cinemas yesterday. The film was one of the most awaited films of the year.
Adipurush got a huge amount of backlash for its dialogues. Many people are hurt with the dialogues in the way they have been written.
The dialogue writer of Adipurush is Manoj Muntashir Shukla. There were many dialogues for which the film has been criticized, but the main dialogue was Lord Hanuman ji saying to Indrajith (Ravana’s son) – Kapda tere baap kaa, tel tere baap kaa, aag bhi tere baap ki, toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki.
There is another scene where Hanuman Ji says that, Jo humaari behno ko haath lagayga uski lanka laga denge.
These kinds of dialogues are totally unacceptable. When you are making a film on god you have to be very sensitive and utmost careful.
Finally Manoj Muntashir breaks his silence amidst the backlash he has faced for writing such dialogues.
He said, “It is not an error. A very meticulous thought process that has gone into writing the dialogues for Bajrangbali. We have made it simple because we have to understand one thing: if there are multiple characters in a film, all of them can’t speak the language. There has to be a kind of diversion, a division.”
He also added by saying, “How do we all know the Ramayana? We have the tradition of katha vaachan, we read also but there is a vaachan parampara. Ramayan is the kind of granth which we have heard from our very childhood, there is Akhand Ramayan, paath and many other things. I come from a small village where our grandmothers used to tell us stories from Ramayana in this language. One more thing, the dialogue that you just mentioned, has been used by the greatest saints, storytellers in our country in the same manner as I have written it. I am not the first one to write this dialogue, it is already there.”
He said that, “The dialogues are meant to be more relatable to today’s audience. Inn dialogues mein kya hai aisa jo kamzor hai?”
Adipurush is directed by Om Raut. The film stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. Kriti Sanon as Sita Maa, Sunny Singh as Laxman and Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman. The film is produced by T-Series and Retrophiles Production.
