Chatrapathi is a low grade level of filmmaking which is strictly meant for the brainless audience. Chatrapathi can please those who watch films just for action and don’t care much about story, performances, screenplay, etc. There is a group of audience who don’t have the basic knowledge of a film and watch films just for the sake of timepass. The film is full of overacting, irritating dialogues, nonsense action and illogical writing. Even I doubt that the no brainer masala section of the audience would accept this film completely or not. What a solid weekend we have, there is IB 71 which will make the audience sleep and Chatrapathi which will give viewers a solid headache.
Chatrapathi has the same old story which we used to see in 70s and 80s about two brothers, their mother and a villain. This film is a complete torture and gives a solid headache. These kinds of films may work in the South or Bhojpuri industry, as they have those brainless masala loving audiences but here in Bollywood the taste of the audience is different. Making such kinds of films needs to be stopped at any cost. Why do makers have to remake any random masala flick and spoil it so badly. Jayantilal Gada is backing so many cheap projects and Chatrapathi joins his elite filmography of craps. This film would have worked in the 60s, 70s or if it would have been made in Bhojpuri Industry.
Talking about performances, each and every actor is misfit in their roles and have performed so badly. Each and every person in the film has done overacting. Talking about Sreenivas Bellamkonda who is making his Hindi debut in this film never looks like a hero in the first place. He just looks like a random guy with a physique who doesn’t know how to act. His dialogue delivery, his acting in emotional scenes, his action sequences, etc. nothing is upto the mark. Whenever Sreenivas appears on-screen he just irritates you. Nushrratt Bharuccha only looks gorgeous on-screen and mostly appears in songs. In the rest of the film, you won’t see Nushrratt leaving an impact. I don’t know what made her say yes to this shitty script. What Abbas Mastan’s Machine was for Kiara Advani, Chatrapathi is for Nushrratt. Bhagyashree plays the role of a mother, she never looks like one nor does she perform. Bhagyashree has only done overacting in the film. This has to be one of the worst casting done for a role of mother. Sharad Kelkar is a big disappointment. We have seen him doing villainous roles, but here he is way below par. Even his powerful voice looks dull in the film. Remaining cast of Freddy Daruwala, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, etc. are just disappointing. I can’t believe that Mukesh Chhabra has been the casting director of this film. This has to be one of the worst casting done by Mukesh Chhabra.
V.V. Vinayak’s direction is so outdated that even a film from the 60s, 70s looks way ahead of its time in front of this shit. Even a low budget film has better camera angles, shots, framework and sequences than this shit. The direction looks so cheap and shitty on-screen. He has shamelessly copied frame to frame from SS Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi including action sequences too. Even a guy with no knowledge of filmmaking would have directed a better film than him. You will laugh at those so called emotional scenes.
I can’t believe that Vijayendra Prasad can write such a terrible script. Never expected such a low grade story from him. The story is so predictable, but even sometimes a predictable story with the right treatment can do wonders. Even televison serials and daily soap advertisements have better writing than this.
I don’t know what obsession Ravi Basrur has with loud music. Does Ravi Basrur do it purposely to harass the audience or is it something else? His majority films have unnecessary loud music which is so irritating and can also create eardrum rupture. Dialogue writing is so bad and punchlines are equal to that of a Bhojpuri film. The film gives you a feeling of watching a dubbed film because lip syncing and editing is so bad. The music is a big disappointment and there are 4 to 5 songs which only increases your headache.
Chatrapathi is such a crap film which deserves all the bashing and criticism. This one’s going to be a complete washout. As there is clash of craps like IB 71, Chatrapathi and Music School on the Box Office, enjoy the weekend by watching IPL which provides more entertainment than all these shits. The treatment given is so bad that it feels like you’re watching some B-Grade or Bhojpuri level film. Chatrapathi has to be skipped at any cost. A humble request to makers to stop remaking the films if they have been given such a bad treatment. Those watching this film will have to call a Chatrapathi (one who can save us from bad films) to their rescue. Watching this film will require a lot of daring, which is impossible for any human. Government should ban such kind of crap films which are being remade to mentally torture people. I can go on and on bashing this film but unfortunately there is a limit of words. Instead of spending money on this crap, donate it for a good cause. One of the worst remakes to come out of Bollywood.
