The press conference of Filmfare Awards was held at Mumbai. The Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan attended the press conference and spoke about various topics. One of the topic he spoke about was the need of censorship on the content of OTT platform.
While talking about the need of censorship on OTT platforms Salman said, “Ek jo parallel cinema hua karta tha ab woh OTT ho gaya hai. People think OTT is a cooler medium, but I don’t think so. I think it was Ram Gopal Varma, who was one of the first who made OTT content. I don’t believe in that kind of content. I am here since 1989 and I haven’t done any of that stuff. I believe there should be censorship on OTT content too. I believe all this vulgarity, nudity and gaali galoch needs to stop, because ab sabke pass, sab phone par aa jaata hai. Even 15-16 year old kids are watching. Aapko achcha lagega ki aapki chhoti beti dekhe (yeh sab) padhne ke bahane? Which is why I feel jitna clean hoga content utna behtar hoga. Beech mein thoda zyada ho gaya tha magar ab jaake thoda control mein hai.”
He further said, “Kya hota hai, jo log yeh karna nahi chahte… jo talented log hai, they feel left out. So, ispe censorship hona chahiye. Films mein bhi toh hai. Films mein thoda blood aa jaye, action zyada ho jaye toh yeh A or UA certificate de dete hai. So, why not here? I host Bigg Boss and I know censorship hain (on television). Aandar jo bhi gaali galoch, mar peet hoti hai, we don’t show all of that.”
68th Filmfare Awards will be held on 27th April, 2023. The awards will be telcasted on 28th April on Colors TV at 9 pm. Salman Khan is all set to host this mega event. Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen performing in the event.
