In a recent media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor and Luv Ranjan answered some of the questions. Let’s have a look below at the questions and answers.

Question 1 – You emote emotions very well through your eyes and we have seen that in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anjaana Anjaani, etc., does it come naturally to you or is it certain method of acting you have learned over the years?

Ranbir Kapoor – When I was doing Saawariya, my director Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that I have sad eyes, if you just sit normally with dead expression and your bone structure it looks like this man is very sad. But I think crying comes easier to me than laughing. Laughing for me is very hard on screen.

Question 2 – Your films always have big titles like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, De De Pyaar De, Pyaar Ka Punchnama and now Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and pink vibes in it, so what’s the reason behind it?

Luv Ranjan – I am bad at titles, I struggle with titles. At the time of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety I didn’t understand anything and I gave the film the title about what it was based on and those 3 central characters. First I thought about naming the film Shaadi Mubarak. Once I had a conversation with a person and I told him that Sonu”s Titu’s Sweety is the idea of the film and then the title came up as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. I have around 300+ titles registered with me.

Question 3 – Is there any film from your filmography you would like the audience to watch it today and probably have a different experience?

Ranbir Kapoor – Kaagaz ke Phool and Mera Naam Joker are those films which didn’t work at Box Office. For RK family Mera Naam Joker is highest selling film and whenever people want the rights this film is discussed. Films have it’s own destiny and film will always find its audience. If I have to choose a film which didn’t work in my filmography I would probably say Rocket Singh. I don’t think it’s a very entertaining film. Audience is the king and they are never wrong. There must be wrong in the film at that moment that it didn’t work. If you’re sitting at home and watching Rocket Singh on OTT maybe it’s a great watch. If I had to make a film like Rocket Singh today I should be intelligent enough and wise enough to make this film for OTT and not for cinema so that you don’t waste people’s time and money.

Question 4 – Good music has always helped you, and whenever you and Pritam come together he always composes best for you, what are your views about it?

Ranbir Kapoor – I feel in my career music has really helped me. Music has given me a lot of recognition and lot of love. Songs are part of our Indian culture and it’s the only industry where we celebrate our songs. Talking about Pritam Da, I’ll say I am lucky, Pritam also recognizes that I work hard on my songs and I do films which have songs that makes an impact. I love the music making process. Songs are very important for a film and I have learned that from my family members Shami Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, my Father, Kareena and Karishma and even my Mother, so I understand the value and that’s why it’s an element in my career that I don’t want to leave any stone unturned in my career.

Question 5 – This is the film of yours (Akaash Vaani was based on domestic violence), where you have shown both man and the woman equally, usually you have woman playing a villain in your film, what do you have to say about it?

Luv Ranjan – I have done smart work. I had though of naming the film Jhoothi Makkaar and then later on change it to Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, because people think that I only make films showing woman the villain, so here I have balanced the things by adding Main Makkaar.

Question 6 – One from your filmography which you would like your daughter Raha to watch when she grows up?

Ranbir Kapoor – I would probably say Barfi of Jagga Jasoos. Both are child friendly films. But I would say Jagga Jasoos as Barfi is bit emotional. I remember when we were kids, me and my sister used to watch our mother’s film Do Kaliyaan. I would like her to watch this film and from my filmography Jagga Jasoos.

Question 7 – At the time when remakes are being made, would you be open for a remake and is there any film which you would love to be a part of if it’s being remade?

Ranbir Kapoor – In early stage of my career also I was very against the remakes and even remaking a song. I remember the one song that I did was Bachna Ae Haseeno. I think I am in a position where I can create original content and I believe if a film that is being made it has been made to it’s best abilities and is hard to recreate it and a better version of it. If I had to choose a film it would have been remade, I would choose Anthony’s character from Amar Akbar Anthony, Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai which had my father in it and Shree 420.

Question 8 – What happened to the film which you were going to do with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor?

Luv Ranjan – It’s a gangster based film. I want to definitely make that film. We were going to make thay film back in 2018 and now 5 years have passed. I still want to make that film and when I’ll go to both of them and tell them about making the film, if they both say yes I’ll definitely work on it.

Question 9 – What roles would you like to play in the future?

Ranbir Kapoor – I feel as an actor I am ready to do anything and I am a responsible artist. I want to do characters with inspire people. I am definitely interested in doing a sports film or a war film. I want to play a role of father. So these are the different aspects of an actor which I want to explore.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is all set to release on 8th March, 2023. The film is written and directed by Luv Ranjan. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The music of the film is composed by Pritam. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.
