Janhvi Kapoor turns 26 today. Janhvi Kapoor is the daughter of Late Legendary Actress Sridevi and Popular Producer Boney Kapoor. Actor Arjun Kapoor is her half sibling and actress Sonam Kapoor is her cousin. Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are her uncles.
Janhvi made her debut with Shashan Khaitan directorial and Dhadak in 2018 alongside Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak went on to become a Hit at the Box Office. Dhadak was an official remake of Marathi Classic and Blockbuster film Sairat. Janhvi gained popularity after Dhadak. Janhvi’s mother Sridevi passed away due to accidental drowning before the release of Dhadak. In 2022, Janhvi was seen in Good Luck Jerry which directly streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. Good Luck Jerry was a remake of the 2018 Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila. In the same year Janhvi had her 3rd theatrical release, Mili which was again a flop at the Box Office. Till date, Janhvi had 6 releases out of which 3 had released in theatres and 3 had released directly on OTT. Out of those 6 films, 4 films are named after Janhvi’s central characters in that film – Mili (Mili), Jerry (Good Luck Jerry), Roohi (Roohi) and Gunjan Saxena (Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl).
Sridevi wanted Janhvi to pursue her character in medical field and wanted her to become a doctor. Janhvi didn’t had much interest in making her career in medical field and Boney Kapoor convinced Sridevi to let Janhvi join the film industry.
Janhvi Kapoor was named after a character from Sridevi’s film. In February 1997, Judaai was released and Boney Kapoor was the producer of this film. Janhvi was named after Urmila’s character in the film. Boney Kapoor and Sridevi loved the character name Janhvi played by Urmila and named their daughter Janhvi.
Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Mili, which was an official remake of Malayalm Film Helen. Janhvi will be next seen in Nitesh Tiwari directorial Bawaal opposite Varun Dhawan. Janhvi will also be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao cricket based romantic film Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. Janhvi is going to have a working birthday as she will is currently shooting the last schedule of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi in Ahmedabad.
