Upcoming film of Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur, Gumraah is all set to release in cinemas on 7th April, 2023. The teaser of Gumraah will be out tomorrow.
Gumraah is a Hindi remake of Tamil film Thadam. Thadam was written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Thadam had Arun Vijay playing the lead role, here in Gumraah Aditya reprises the role of Arun and plays the double role for the 1st time in his career. Vidya Pradeep played the role of sub-inspector and here Mrunal will be seen playing the role of lady officer. Thadam received critical appreciation at the time of it’s release.
Gumraah is a crime thriller film directed by Vardhan Ketkar. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani.
The plot of Gumraah is – During the investigation of a man’s murder, the police find two probable suspects, who look alike but do not know each other. However, the case gets complicated when new facts unravel.
As we have seen, remakes not working at the Box Office, it will be interesting to see what will be the fate of Gumraah at the Box Office. Recently Shehzada, Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Selfiee, Hindi remake of Malayalam Film Driving License bombed at box office. The last Hindi remake which did exceptionally well at the Box Office was Drishyam 2. Drishyam 2 collected mammoth 240 cr at the Box Office and was declared Blockbuster.
Aditya Roy Kapur was last seen in Disney+ Hotstar web series The Night Manager. Aditya Roy Kapur’s next after Gumraah is Anurag Basu directorial Metro In Dino which will be releasing this year later on 8th December. Mrunal Thakur will be next seen in Pippa and Aankh Micholi.
