Bigg Boss 20 contestant Gullu has finally confirmed that he was previously married. The Splitsvilla X6 winner made the revelation while having a candid conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, as he opened up about one of the most difficult phases of his life and the personal struggles he went through in 2024.
During the conversation, Gullu spoke about the lowest phase of his life and how it became difficult for him to move on from what had happened. Qazi, trying to understand what had caused the heartbreak, asked him if he had gone through a breakup. Gullu, however, simply mouthed the word “divorce”, leaving Qazi visibly shocked.
“Yaha fir main apne low phase se pohcha, is line mein,” says Gullu.
Qazi responded by acknowledging the intensity of what Gullu had gone through, saying, “Dil toota hai ganda wala.”
Gullu, however, clarified that the situation was not simply about having his heart broken. He explained that there were certain things he could not openly discuss because people around him viewed the situation differently.
“Waise dil nahi toota. Kisi ko bata nahi sakte Kyunki sabko woh chiz lag rahi thi galat mere liye aur mujhe lag rahi thi sahi. Muje woh step Uthana tha mere liye.”
Gullu once again mouthed, “Divorce,” prompting Qazi to ask in disbelief, “Sach mein?”
The reality show contestant then revealed that he had gone through several difficult experiences in 2024. “2024 mein d Bahut tarah ki chiz se nikal ke aaya hu main,” says Gullu.
Qazi then directly asked him if he had been married at the time. Gullu confirmed that he had indeed gone through the marriage and its aftermath, saying, “Waha se nikal ke aaya hoon main jaise taise.”
When Qazi asked how long the marriage lasted, Gullu revealed that it was a short lived marriage of around five to six months. The Splitsvilla X6 winner said, “5 and a half or 6 months.”
Gullu also spoke about the social and family pressure surrounding marriage, particularly in his community. He explained that there is often an expectation to get married early, especially when a person is considered to be at an age where they are expected to settle down.
“Humari side na Aaj bhi aisi chiz karte hai ke shadi Jaldi karate hai. Pressure rehta hai. Ladko ka bhi. Ke ab karoge kya? Aap kuch kar nahi rahe toh shadi kar k khatam kar.”
Qazi then asked Gullu whether he had been in love with the woman he married. Gullu denied having been in love, making it clear that the marriage was not the result of a romantic relationship.
“Nahi tha. Aise koi pyaar vyaar nahi tha.”
Opening up about his life after the marriage ended, Gullu said that he eventually became accustomed to living alone. He also developed a belief that despite everything he had gone through, life would eventually give him something better.
The Bigg Boss 20 contestant further recalled another difficult chapter involving his marriage photos. He revealed that his wedding pictures were leaked after he won Roadies and was in Goa. At that point, he had not yet been divorced, which made the situation particularly complicated for him. Gullu said that his name and reputation were at stake when the photographs came out.
Qazi also asked him about the reaction from his family following everything that happened. Gullu explained that his family had to deal with several social factors, including their village, community and reputation.
“Cut. Hojate hai na, woh apne jagah sahi hai. Gaon, samaaj, naam, woh sab Kara ye sab kara.”
Towards the end of the conversation, Qazi asked Gullu whether his parents are proud of him today. Gullu affirmed that they are, marking an emotional moment as he reflected on how far he has come after going through one of the most challenging periods of his life.
