An old video from Shreyas Talapade’s film Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal (2012) has come out where we see Shreyas stopping a van by his foot where OM is written. Shreyas played a Christian character named Johnny in the film.
The clip was shared with a caption which read as, ‘Christian man puts his foot on OM. Ever saw this type of disrespect for any other religion in Urduwood?’
Shreyas had replied to this tweet by posting an apologetic note. The tweet read as, “There are too many factors while one is shooting… which include one’s mindset during a sequence especially the action scenes, the director’s requirements, the time constraints and a lot of other things. But this is not me explaining or justifying myself for what you see in the video. All I can say is this was completely unintentional and I am very apologetic for the same. I should have seen that and brought it to the director’s notice. Nevertheless, I would never intentionally hurt anyone’s sentiments or repeat something like this.”
Many of them supported Shreyas for this gesture but he also faced backlash by some people for hurting religious sentiments. It takes alot of courage to apologize publicly and Shreyas has done the same thing.
Shreyas was last seen in the film Kaun Pravin Tambe which was a Biopic of Cricketer Pravin Tambe. He had also dubbed his voice in Hindi for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa. Shreyas will be seen in Kangana Ranaut’s next Emergency where he plays the role of PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
