Fans waiting for Shah Rukh Khan’s King now have one less thing to worry about. The superstar has indicated that the action drama is still headed for a December 24, 2026 theatrical release, despite recent speculation about a possible delay.
Shah Rukh addressed the matter during his latest interaction with fans on X on Tuesday. The actor hosted another edition of #AskSRK, giving fans an opportunity to ask him everything from the upcoming film to its promotional plans. Naturally, King dominated much of the conversation.
One fan appeared concerned about the film’s position among other releases and wondered if the makers were reconsidering the date. The question read, “Srk sir king to sandwich jaisa fas gya hai kya date change hoga? @iamsrk.” Shah Rukh dismissed the possibility in his own witty style and replied, “Not at all….Baaki bread pieces ka bhi toh socho….hum toh center ki tasty Tikki hain.”
The confirmation is particularly noteworthy because questions over King’s schedule had emerged after reports of an injury to the actor. A Midday report published last month claimed that Shah Rukh had hurt his shoulder while working on the film. The report further suggested that filming had been put on hold temporarily so that the actor could recover before returning to the sets.
While there had been speculation that the setback could have an impact on the theatrical plans, Shah Rukh’s latest comments suggest otherwise. The actor has also made it clear that fans should not expect the trailer just yet.
During the same session, a fan urged him to release the trailer, seemingly hoping for an early glimpse of the highly anticipated project. Shah Rukh responded, “Abhi sirf baat karunga Trailer baad mein…. film is 100 days away na…24th Dec bro.”
For now, the superstar’s comments indicate that the makers are sticking to their announced theatrical plan while keeping the promotional campaign under wraps. With King still several weeks away from its release, fans will have to wait a little longer for the trailer and a larger look at the film.
The project has already generated considerable buzz, and Shah Rukh’s playful answers during the session have only added to the excitement. For those keeping track of the countdown, December 24, 2026 remains the date circled on the calendar.
