Jasmine Bhasin has opened up about the personal story behind her first tattoo. The actress recently took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the tattoo, which reads ‘I AM ENOUGH’, and revealed that the words hold a deeply personal meaning for her.

Sharing the story behind the tattoo, Jasmine spoke about a phase in her life when she constantly tried to change herself in order to feel loved and accepted. She admitted that while trying to fit into what she believed others wanted from her, she eventually lost touch with her own personality.

She wrote, “Story of my first tattoo and the moment I chose myself after spending so much time trying to become someone i thought would be easier to love

For the longest time, I kept trying to fit myself into little boxes, changing, shrinking, adjusting, becoming whoever I thought I needed to be to feel loved, accepted and to belong.

Somewhere along the way, I lost the most important person, Myself!!

I stopped being the carefree, joyous, positive and sorted girl I knew I was. I was constantly trying to be “enough” for everyone else, forgetting that I was already enough for myself.”

Jasmine further revealed that the idea for the tattoo came to her during one of her healing sessions. She explained that she realised she did not need to make herself smaller to fit into somebody else’s world.

She added, “During one of my healing sessions, I realised something that broke my heart and healed it at the same time that I don’t have to become smaller to fit into someone else’s world.

So I got these words tattooed on me: I AM ENOUGH.”

The actress clarified that the tattoo is not about considering herself perfect, but serves as a reminder that she does not need to change herself to earn love. Jasmine also spoke about wanting to be loved, accepted and seen as she is.

“This tattoo is a promise to myself – that I will never abandon who I am again just to be loved.

I am enough.
I have always been enough,” she concluded.

Jasmine’s post also caught attention because of a comment from fellow actress Nia Sharma, who wrote, “Will never be enough for’em ..” The comment has since added another layer of conversation around Jasmine’s emotional post.
