With Independence Day spirit high across the country, Sony Entertainment Television is all set to present a never-before-seen celebration honouring legendary actor Manoj Kumar, fondly called Bharat Kumar for his patriotic cinema and deep devotion to the nation.
The special episode will feature mesmerizing dance performances on his evergreen patriotic songs, along with intriguing behind-the-scenes stories and heartfelt memories that showcase his remarkable journey.
Kicking off the tribute, host Paritosh Tripathi told the audience, “Right now, the whole nation is glowing with patriotism. People have many ways of expressing their love for India, but Manoj Kumar, born on 24 July 1937, chose cinema as his language of love for the country. Through films like Purab Aur Pachhim, he spread the message of patriotism far and wide. Today, the Super Dancer stage bows to Bharat and to Bharat Kumar.”
Judge Shilpa Shetty brought in a charming nugget of nostalgia: “Manoj ji ko mera naman. When I had just started acting, I used to get fan letters and always wondered how people found my address. This was before the social media era. But back in Manoj ji’s time, people did not even need an address. They could simply write his name on the envelope and the letter would still reach him. Isn’t that amazing?”
Adding more magic to the moment, veteran actress Aruna Irani, who shared screen space with Manoj Kumar in several films, sent in a special video message recalling touching moments and rare stories from her time with the beloved star.
