Sonakshi Sinha, known for her candid attitude and sense of humor, has finally addressed the ongoing buzz surrounding her pregnancy, and her response is winning the internet. After weeks of speculation that began shortly after her dreamy wedding to longtime partner Zaheer Iqbal, Sonakshi decided to put the rumors to rest in the most entertaining way possible.
Taking to social media, Sonakshi shared a cheeky WhatsApp chat between her and Zaheer. In the screenshot, Zaheer texts her, “Baby, bhook lagi hai (I’m hungry),” to which Sonakshi sweetly responds that she just finished her dinner. The couple then exchange a quick “I love you” before ending the chat. But it was Sonakshi’s caption that had everyone laughing, she wrote, “The reason why everyone thinks I’m preggos. STOP IT.”
Turns out, the actress was poking fun at how people jump to conclusions just because she’s eating more or visiting hospitals. In fact, her hospital visit a few days after the wedding had sparked a wave of rumors that she was expecting. Addressing that head-on in a recent interview, Sonakshi said with a laugh, “The only change is that I can’t go to the hospital now because as soon as you step out, people think I’m pregnant.”
The actress also mentioned how she has learned to shut out the noise and not let such baseless gossip affect her. “People will say what they want. I’ve found a way to shut it out,” she said during a conversation with NDTV.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, who had been dating for over seven years, tied the knot in a beautiful civil ceremony in June 2024. The event was intimate yet emotional, and Sonakshi revealed she couldn’t stop crying while signing the marriage papers – overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for finally marrying her soulmate.
On the work front, Sonakshi is all set for the theatrical release of her next film Nikita Roy, directed by her brother Kussh Sinha. She’s also enjoying the praise for her role in Heeramandi and gearing up for her upcoming horror-comedy Kakuda.
For now, though, she’s focusing on love, laughter, and letting the world know that not every hospital visit or hearty meal means a baby is on the way!
